Current director of corporate development will run investor relations after the float

Betfair is set to strengthen its IR team as the online betting company gears up for its initial public offering in London.

The company is planning to hire new IR staff but has no more details to offer at the present time, a spokesperson tells IR magazine in an email.

The spokesperson also confirms that Mark Brooker, Betfair’s corporate development director who joined the company from Morgan Stanley earlier this year, will lead Betfair’s IR effort following the flotation.

The news comes after Betfair’s announcement last week that it plans to list its shares on the London Stock Exchange.

The company – which is not issuing any new shares in the float – says the IPO will help it expand overseas by improving the company’s transparency and reputation. The IPO is expected to be completed before the end of October.
