Signet Jewelers’ IRO to move to gaming firm on December 1

London Stock Exchange-listed gaming company Playtech has hired Adam Kay to head up its investor relations department from the start of December.

Kay, who has 10 years’ experience in investor relations and corporate communications, will head up the two-person IR department on December 1. He will be replacing Ross Hawley who moved to Edwards, the West Sussex-based technology company, in the summer to work on its US IPO after three years at Playtech.

Playtech designs, develops and licenses software for the gambling industry, including companies such as Paddy Power and Ladbrokes, covering everything from online poker to bingo and social gaming. The company recently upgraded its listing from AIM to a premium one on the main market and posted half-year net profits of €84.5 mn ($107.7 mn), a 67 percent increase on the same period in 2011.

Kay will be joining the company after almost eight years at Signet Jewelers. He will now work with Playtech’s executive management and external investors and analysts to promote the company’s ‘strong investment case’.

‘I am delighted to welcome Adam to Playtech’s management team,’ says chief executive Mor Weizer in a company press release. ‘He brings a wealth of investor relations experience and knowledge that will be invaluable to the company. Playtech is committed to actively communicating with the investment and analyst community and I look forward to working closely with Adam to enhance this.’
