Dwayne Blake to lead IR department at US shipping giant

Dwayne Blake is set to take over from the current head of IR at Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) as incumbent Andy Green prepares to leave the corporate staff.

Blake, formerly corporate vice president of internal audit, will move into his new role at the US naval shipping firm on January 1, 2013, as Green joins the company’s Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) division.

‘Dwayne’s 28 years of experience at NNS, Northrop Grumman Newport News, Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding and HII position him for success in this new career opportunity,’ says Barbara Niland, corporate vice president in business management and CFO of HII, in a company statement.

‘With the majority of his career spent in financial management, contracts and pricing, business planning and treasury, Dwayne brings great experience along with a set of valuable and complementary skills to his new position.’

Blake joined NNS in 1984, moving through a series of ‘increasingly responsible’ positions to serve as corporate vice president of internal audit when HII was formed in March 2011.

The firm designs, builds and maintains ships ‒ including nuclear ships ‒ for the US Navy and Coast Guard, and employs more than 37,000 people.

HII says Scott Stabler will be appointed to fill Blake’s current position in internal auditing.
