What advice do you have for companies wishing to diversify their shareholder base?

BASF head of IR Magdalena MollMagdalena Moll, senior vice president, IR, BASF
In 1999, the percentage of US ownership hovered around 9 percent. Through regular engagement with investors, significant senior management support and a permanent IR manager based in the US since 2006, the percentage of US ownership has risen to 16 percent. The US market is, however, not the only relevant market for BASF and we continue to focus on expanding our ownership base around the globe to match our business profile and outlook, regularly evaluating our progress and long-term targets.

Magdalena Moll is head of IR at German chemicals company BASF, where she runs a team of 15 people. Moll and her team have won many awards for their IR program, including the grand prix for best overall investor relations by a large cap at the IR Magazine Europe Awards 2010.
